A quick guide to get you started:

What’s the schedule?

We’ll be arranging events from Thursday evening to Saturday evening. A full schedule is included below.

How do I get to Tinos?

We recommend taking a ferry from either Mykonos or Athens. We’ve provided a step-by-step travel guide below.

When should I arrive and leave?

Guests should aim to arrive at Tinos’ port on Thursday, September 24, before 4p.m., and should check-out on Sunday, September 27 before 1p.m.

Where will I stay?

We’ve arranged accommodation for you at Aeolis Tinos Suites, which doubles as our wedding venue.

How do we get around?

We’ve got buses and transport covered for all key events. If guests want their own ride, we’ve sorted rental deals too. Plus, we’ll give you a local number to order taxis on demand, in case required. Uber is not a thing on Tinos.

What do I gift?

Your presence is the greatest gift of all! We know that getting to Tinos takes time, travel, and sometimes a good chunk of your budget. We’re incredibly grateful that you’re making the trip.

If you're in a place where contributing is comfortable, feel free to do so below — but it’s entirely optional.

The Wedding Schedule

A Hindu wedding is a vibrant and elaborate celebration that typically lasts several days. It’s rich in rituals and traditions. We’ll also be weaving in Austrian and Bosnian traditions along the way. Here’s a sense of what to look forward to.

Exact timings and locations will be confirmed closer to the date. Bear with us!

Thursday, September 24:

Welcome to Tinos!

Guests arrive to the island! You’ll be picked up when you arrive to the port and taken to the wedding hotel, Aeolis Tinos Suites.

Rest, relax and get ready for the festivities. We’ve arranged for guests to travel to the main town to explore, have dinner and get a sense of the island.

The bride and groom will be whisked away for their surprise bachelor/bachelorette night, organised and attended by close friends.

Friday, September 25:

The Haldi & Mehndi Ceremony:

After breakfast, we’ll start our first pre-wedding tradition. Haldi, or turmeric, is a key ingredient in a traditional Indian pre-wedding ceremony where a paste is applied to the bride and groom for purification and blessings. Guests can participate by applying the Haldi paste to the couple, the messier you do it, the funner!

Meanwhile, we’ll have an amazing artist for guests who want to get their mehndi (henna) done. While all of this is happening, feel free to also relax by the pool.

Optional dress code: Daytime-casual attire. Bright and cheerful colours are ideal for a Haldi ceremony, with yellow being the most traditional choice.

The Sunset Welcome Party:

We’re kicking off our official welcome party, with an evening of drinks and wood-fired pizza to share. Enjoy some welcome speeches and good company. We’re gearing up for the big event!

Optional dress code: Semi-formal chic. Think polished but relaxed — a great opportunity to wear that dress or suit you’ve been saving for a special occasion.

Saturday, September 26:

The Hindu Ceremony:

It’s the big day! Richa and Benjamin get married. We’ll start with the arrival of the groom, and follow several symbolic and vibrant traditions. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of explanations throughout for guests to follow along and participate.

Optional dress code: We’d love for you to celebrate in any formal attire that makes you feel festive and comfortable. If you’ve been waiting for the perfect excuse to wear traditional Indian attire — this is it! We’d love to see you in a sparkly lehenga or a bright kurta. Some recommended links are included in the FAQs.

The Reception:

To close out the wedding, we’ll have our main reception at a typical Greek location. Think stunning views, and plenty of food, music, and dancing under the stars. It’s our way of ending the celebrations on a high note, and we can’t wait to share this special evening with you.

Optional dress code: Formal attire. If you’d like to embrace traditional Austrian attire, this is the perfect occasion! We’d love to see guests in a classic dirndl or a sharp lederhosen. Some recommended links for inspiration are included in the FAQs.

How to get to Tinos

To reach the island, you’ll need to fly into either Athens or Mykonos, then hop on a ferry to Tinos. Don’t worry—we’ll pick you up from the Tinos port (there’s only one!).

Once you’ve booked your trip, just fill in this form so we can plan for your arrival.

Below is a step-by-step guide to help you sort out your journey. Just make sure to leave yourself enough time between landing and your ferry ride!

When should I arrive & leave?

Arrive in Tinos: Thursday, September 24th before 4p.m.

Leave from the hotel: Sunday, September 27th (check-out by 1p.m.)

If you arrive later or need to leave earlier, no problem—just let us know in the form.

Below is a small map to help you visualize your journey.

1. Find & book your flight ✈

Fly into Athens or Mykonos—ideally on Thursday morning so you can catch the ferry on time.

Some of our go-to flight search tools:

2. Getting from the airport to the ferry port 🛥

If you're landing in Athens:

  • Rafina Port (~2‒4h ferry): Most ferries to Tinos leave from here. It's about 30 minutes by taxi from the airport.

  • Piraeus Port (~2.5‒5h ferry): Fewer ferries, but reachable via Metro. Good choice if you’re spending a few days in Athens.

If you're landing in Mykonos:

  • Mykonos Port (20‒30 min ferry): Quick trip! Just take a taxi (around €30) from the airport to the port.
Heads-up: taxis are in high demand here.

3. Booking your ferry tickets ⛴

This part is super easy.
Download the Openferry app—it’s a breeze to use:

Or use it on your browser: openferry.com

You can search ferries from Rafina, Piraeus, Mykonos to Tinos, or even other islands if you’re exploring Greece before/after the wedding.

✅ After booking, hold onto the app—you’ll use it to check in to the ferry before your trip.

💡 Pro tip: From Athens to Tinos, the ferries take multiple hours, so don't arrive too late with your flight, otherwise you have to spend time in Athens/Rafina before you can get to Tinos.

4. Let us know your final travel details 📋

Once you’ve got your flights and ferries sorted, just fill in this quick form below so we can be ready to greet you when you arrive.

Where to stay

No need to book accommodation—we’re taking care of that for you from Thursday, September 24 to Sunday, September 27 (3 nights). You’ll have a room at Aeolis Tinos Suites, our main wedding venue.

We’ll assign rooms closer to the date based on final RSVPs and will make sure to accommodate families with little ones. You’ll hear from us in advance with all the details.

Why are we doing this?

We know that getting to Tinos takes time and money. We’re incredibly grateful you’re making the trip, and we want to make it easier for you to be there.

How to get around

No need to worry about transport!

We’ve got you covered with shuttle buses for 1) all main wedding events and 2) pick-up and drop-off at the ferry port for your arrival and departure.

Just show up—we’ll take care of the rest. We’re also planning a few fun extras during the weekend and will share more details soon!

If you'd prefer to explore the island on your own, we’ve arranged discounted rates with Nicole from Dromos Car Rental - who speaks English and German:

Just tap the WhatsApp button below to message her directly and mention you're with us. Cars are available from ~25-30 Euro/day, while Scooters starts at ~15-20 Euro/day, but availablity for the cheaper options is limited.

FAQs

Can you provide recommendations for buying Indian and Austrian attire?

Yes! Remember, this dress code is entirely optional. Here are some links to online sites, with international shipping, that you can select from. Keep in mind - in addition to usual white color, red tends to be the color of the bride in Indian ceremonies.

Indian:

Austrian:

Which room will I get?

We'll be assigning rooms to guests based on the final RSVP list. Some rooms have sofa beds, which we may utilize if we have a higher number of guests. There's a small chance we might accommodate some of you in a nearby hotel, but we'll let you know in early 2026 if that's the case.

Will all guests stay at the hotel?

Our plan is for everyone to stay at the hotel to create a wedding community and make it easy for everyone to get to and from the events. We'll be in touch if this plan changes.

Where should I go if I am already on the island before the official wedding days?

If you're already on the island, you won't need to come to the port for pickup. Please come directly to the hotel before 4:00 PM on September 24 to check-in.

Do you have a wedding registry?

We know it's a long way to travel for all of you! Instead of gifts, we've set up a voluntary donation system if you'd like to contribute to our wedding. More details are above in the "What to Gift" section.

I have a food allergy or dietary restriction. What should I do?

Please let us know about any allergies or dietary restrictions when you RSVP. We want to make sure everyone can enjoy all meals!

Can the hotel/wedding accommodate kids and babies?

Absolutely! The hotel has cribs and anything else you might need for your kids. We are also thinking of ways to make sure your kids are entertained. Please reach out if you have specific questions or needs for your little ones.

Should I get a rental car?

You won't need a rental car for the wedding events, as we'll be arranging transport to all event locations throughout the weekend. If you'd like to have some personal flexibility, feel free to contact our car rental partner, Dromos. More information is available in the "How to get around in Tinos" section.

Do I need cash on the island?

Most shops already accept card/contactless payment. However, it’s never a bad idea to have some spare cash in Greece.
